Terms of Use.

Last updated: June 17, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing this website or submitting a beta access request, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use this website or the Frag-ment application.

2. What Frag-ment is

Frag-ment is a desktop application that allows users to cryptographically fragment and reconstruct seed phrases using Shamir's Secret Sharing (SLIP39). It is a self-custody, offline-first tool. Frag-ment does not provide financial advice, custody services, or any regulated financial service.

Frag-ment is currently in private beta. Features, availability, and pricing are subject to change without notice.

3. Beta access

Submitting a beta access request does not guarantee access. Access is granted at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to revoke beta access at any time without notice or explanation.

Beta users may encounter bugs, incomplete features, or breaking changes. The beta version is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind.

4. User responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

  • The security of your device . Frag-ment operates locally on your machine. We cannot protect you from malware, keyloggers, or physical access to your device.
  • The storage and custody of your fragments . Once generated, your fragments are your responsibility. Frag-ment does not store, back up, or have access to your fragments.
  • Understanding the tool before use . We strongly recommend reading the documentation and understanding the M-of-N scheme you choose before fragmenting any real seed phrase.
  • Compliance with applicable laws . You are responsible for ensuring your use of Frag-ment complies with the laws of your jurisdiction.

5. No financial or legal advice

Nothing on this website or in the Frag-ment application constitutes financial, legal, or tax advice. Frag-ment is a technical tool. Any decisions related to the management, storage, or transmission of crypto-assets are yours alone. We strongly recommend consulting qualified professionals for estate planning, legal structuring, or tax obligations related to digital assets.

6. Intellectual property

The Frag-ment name, logo, and visual identity are proprietary. The cryptographic core of the application is published under an open source license on GitHub. See the repository for details. All other components of the application, including but not limited to the user interface, succession logic, and hardware integrations, remain proprietary and may not be copied, modified, or redistributed without written permission.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

Frag-ment is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the application will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of security vulnerabilities. Use of Frag-ment with real seed phrases is at your own risk. We strongly recommend testing with generated or dummy seed phrases before use with real assets.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Frag-ment shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the application or this website, including but not limited to loss of crypto-assets, loss of access to wallets, or data loss.

This limitation applies regardless of the cause of action, even if Frag-ment has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the project evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued use of the website or application after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
